“It was a real joy to write a new piece for Lucie Horsch, who also has premiered my Zeng (2018-19) for recorder and ensemble. The starting point for Arteria was energy: the music is combining constantly changing sound colours with throbbing pulse. But I also did let out some unashamed melodic outbursts – knowing that a virtuoso like Lucie will breath an amazing life into them as well.”
